(I'm going to start a discussion about this in greater detail in the general discussion forum) What I mean by this is, I can find far more failure stories on certain bows, styles, speed, than I can on others. What I have discovered thus far has been, while EVERY crossbow out there has had limb failures, I have also seen some patterns that seem to stand out a bit more than others. I have been on an obsessive research project on several models, brands, and even completely different styles of crossbows for some time. My reason for choosing the refund is this. A shout out to jims-sports on ebay as the customer service thus far has been A+. ![]() After much agonizing over what to do, I decided on a refund. But to my surprise, he offered replacement or refund. I had contacted the seller on ebay fully expecting him to direct me to the warranty. So here is my update on the KI Boss limb failure. I am hoping Taiwan has corrected the faulty limb problems or the limbs on the Bruin Ambush 370 are manufacturedĪll these listed crossbows are manufactured in Taiwan. Properly tuned, using a good rest, this crossbow is very accurate. My newly acquired Bruin Ambush 370, having had it less than a week has close to 600 shots on it with no I have all these crossbows except for the Killer instinct 405 so I do know Note: I do not recommend using the limbs from the Carbon Express 390 Pile Driver or the Rocky MountainĤ05 or 415 as these limbs all sliver. If so, this puts the string stops closer to the rail-stock.Ģ)the bow string, cables and cable slide will work.Ĥ)the same high quality trigger assembly. May fit providing the bolt pattern is the same. Note 1)the bracket for the string stop rod on the Boss 405 is different, but the other rod brackets Bruin Ambush 370.ġ)the complete riser, 2)limbs, cams, axles. Many parts from the following crossbow risers will interchange.Ĭarbon Express 390 Pile Driver, Rebranded Rocky Mountain 405 and 415. I did an internet search on the Killer Instinct Boss 405 crossbow. And I just registered this damn thing last night!. The big question will be is let's see how K.I.'s customer service will be treating me when I call this in. ![]() But as I have learned on Crossbow nation, you won't find a crossbow out there that has not had a limb failure. I followed al the usual precautions, and as always the nock was fully seated. So it's not like I was shooting at to fast of a speed. I was using Victory Decimators which weigh in at 429.6 t.w. Best part was, I never even fired the included hyperlite arrows which weigh in at 370.4 grains t.w. Pretty disappointing for this to happen on the first day of shooting. I start looking over everything closely, and that's when I noticed the fracture running along the inside of the right lower limb. The white mark on the right side of the rail was now on top the rail a little bit. I also noticed the white mark I made on my bow string on each side of the rail was different. I started examining everything, then I noticed my right side cam had moved outside the reference marks I had just made on them when setting the bow up. I also noticed that my arrow impacted about 9 inches to the right of the bullseye. I fired an arrow and heard a loud ding noise as if I hit a metal tool against another piece of metal. ![]() Had chance to start sighting it in today, and everything was going well until around 30 shots in. I received the bow Friday and spent all Friday evening setting it up. well that excitement was to be short lived. Boss 405 on ebay for a sale price of 259.99. Their lack of responsibility is goin GB to cost them.Well guys.if you've been following my post you know that I was pretty excited about getting a new K.I. I sued wal mart 15 yrs ago and got an docs settlement in 5 min over the phone at my attys. And their retarted phone dude is clearly trying to entrap me and say I said things I didnt say. I have spoke to Geeg, the main KI guy once and he offered nothing and wouldn't even give me a rough contact timeline. She should have paid they builder the $10,000 she contracted for. She paid $25000 and $12000 for the attourney. I had a landlady who stiffed a contractor for $10,000. They are bringing this war upon themselves. ![]() I mentioned med expenses, and they said everything I said was being documented. They were sniffing around about what kind of insurance I have. Putting words in my mouth, and ducking and dodging the communication factor. They are practically begging me to do it.
